Bewitching Enchanted River

Enchanted River is one of the famous tourist destinations of Surigao Del Sur. It is located in Barangay Talisay, Hinatuan Surigao del Sur.

We often hear of Hinatuan as a town visited by typhoons as it was reported to be the place where Typhoon Pablo was supposed to make its landfall in 2012. Hinatuan is approximately 270.7 km. from Davao City via the Pan Philippine Highway and will take one roughly 3 hours and 38 minutes to get there.

The rough road leading to the river starts on the right side of the main highway if one is coming from Bislig City. One cannot miss the place because of the many signs along the way.

Huts line the entrance of the river. Guests should bring their own food. Everyone is enjoined to keep the place clean.

This is Enchanted River!

From its Facebook Page, Enchanted River, the Hidden Paradise:

"Enchanted River in HInatuan, Surigao del Sur continues to be most popular must-see attraction of Surigao del Sur. Hidden in Brgy. Talisay, the awesome deep river inside a thick forest with color like pepsi blue... very cool.. very clear.. and very mystical, is estimated to be around 24 meters (80 feet). Vast wealth fishes on different varieties and colors readily greet the visitors which add to its mysterious attraction."

It looks like a lake but it is really a river. Divers do take a dive here once in a while.
Such clear waters. The water here is brackish.
Make sure to bring floaters or wear life vests when swimming especially for those who do not know how to swim. The current can take one into the mouth of the river.
Peace, Girl!
Going to Enchanted River is worth the long trip. This can be part of a tour of Surigao del Sur which could include a trip to Tinuy-an Falls, Britania Islands and Cagwait Beach.
